Straying from the source of life.   It's funny how we take water for granted.  I don't mean the overall rivers, lakes and oceans. I'm talking about the water that we use personally every day to stay alive.    We have the means to take water with us everywhere we go. Sports bottles, plastic water bottles, fancy, flashy personal water containers, and if you go hiking there's even backpacks that have a water bladder in them with a tube that you can drink from as you're walking. Got two of those. Love 'em! And we fill these things with water from readily available sources all around us. Just turn the handle, push the lever or buy it while you're at the store. But it wasn't always this way.....you used to have to go get it yourself from a source. Back in the ancient times, if you were fortunate enough to dig down and find good water, that became the source of life for not only your family but a lot of times the community around you.  It's a fact i...

DON'T GET SIDETRACKED!!

Image
Everybody falls short of being who they're supposed to be at some point in time. Hopefully, for each one of us, it's a short diversion and not a regrettable long journey. Those sidetracks are usually caused by comparing ourselves to someone else and going off on a wild goose chase to be more like them.  We can only find true inner peace and success by becoming the person that we are uniquely designed to be. You know, using the talents and desires that were placed deep within you, the person God created you to be.  Go be that person, even if it seems impossible. Write that article, volunteer for that position, speak loving truth to the person on your heart. Make giving those talents of yours back to God your #1 priority, and you will be blessed and a blessing!  Jesus stressed that we are supposed to focus on what He has given and told us and not give our ears to others. Read John 21:21-22. Throughout His ministry He had personal words and affirmat...

DOES GOD CARE ABOUT YOUR "LITTLE" THINGS?

Image
Have you ever wondered if God cares about our day-to-day stuff? You know, the little and medium-sized things that really shape our quality of life. We know that He handles the "big" stuff all the time, as that is usually all that we bring Him. The funny thing is, is that Jesus addressed this question as the very first miracle in his ministry. .  It wasn't an act of healing somebody, raising a loved one from the dead or parting an ocean. You'll find in his Word that He did it to save a couple from social embarrassment. You will find the account in the Gospel of John chapter 2.    A couple had got married, and they ran out of wine at the celebration, which was a huge, huge social blunder and a terrible way to start your life together with an embarrassment.    Jesus did not have to change the water into wine, but he did in order to show us right off the bat that he cares about even the "little" stuff in our lives. He displayed His heart befo...

YOUR RIGHT TO BE IN THE THRONE ROOM

Image
When you pray, where do you see yourself positionaly in relation to God? Are you here on Earth, and he is someplace far, far away in outer space? Place yourself on the outskirts of God's throne room.  Visualize in your head as best you can a real situation in which you are actually, physically there. The doors open as you start to pray. What seems like 60 feet away is Almighty God. Creator of the Universe. Controller of Heaven and Hell sitting on His throne.  All of your senses are immediately overwhelmed by the immensity and intensity of that room because of His actual presence. Here's the question of the moment; How do you approach Him?   Like the Cowardly Lion in The Wizard of Oz, full of fear? Like you don't really belong there and hope you don't get whacked because you had the nerve to approach Him? Or do you walk right in like you own the place? And I'm asking you to truthfully play it out in your mind that exact scenario as if you suddenly found your...
