There's Still Hope!
Do you think that God has possibly given up on you?
Do you wonder if you've drifted too far?
If you do, I think we should together take a look at the Biblical truth of the Patience, Grace and Loyalty of God.
1st off, lets set the record straight.
"So God has given both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Heb 6:18
He tells us about Himself here. Remember, He cannot lie!
"The Lord is compassionate and merciful, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. Ps 103:8 and again;
"The Lord is gracious and full of compassion, Slow to anger and great in Mercy." Ps 145:8
Don’t you see how wonderfully kind, tolerant, and patient God is with you and me?
When God says something more than once He is trying to drive home a vital truth to us.
It
is almost incomprehensible to me when reading the books of Kings and
Chronicles about how this king and that king "did evil in the sight of
the Lord" but still reigned for 10, 15, 25 years or more.
That my friend is the patience and long-suffering of God.
Take note that this was the LEADER, someone responsible for the whole nation, not some everyday guy or gal like you and I!!!
If God had patience with those guys, how much more with us?!
I
would have blasted Israel/Judah from Heaven after the first 2 bad ones
in a row! But thankfully God is nothing like me in that respect.
You know why?
"The
Lord does not delay [as though He were unable to act] and is not slow
about His promise, as some count slowness, but is [extraordinarily]
patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to
repentance."
2 Peter 3:9
(Repentance- dropping your mindset and exchanging it for God's)
If
you've been blowing it for a while and can't seem to get out of that
rut you are in, so you can finally turn it around and you can no longer lift
your eyes up because the weight of your shame and the condemnation, I
want you to KNOW there is still hope.
I urge you to listen to the song "
Clean" by Natalie Grant and remember that our salvation and
sanctification comes from God and His Faithfulness to us. Why? Because
His Spirit dwells within us and;
"If we are faithless, he remains faithful, for he cannot disown himself."
2 Tim. 2:13
He
was well aware of our shortcomings and failures before He called you
and me!! And He still did it! Take note that His call is irrevocable
and Never wrong!
"But you are a forgiving God,
gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love.
Therefore you did not desert them, Nehemiah 9:17b
Did you get that last line?
It is not too late, you're not too far and God is not through working in/on you!
Get a tight hold on this one.
It is an anchor for your soul...
"being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you WILL complete it until the day of Jesus Christ." Philippians 1:6
He WILL...!!!!
